This kokeshi by Noboru Wagatsuma carries a colour rarely seen in the classical kokeshi world: a deep, vivid turquoise that fades toward grey at the edges — applied in broad, flowing brushstrokes across the porcelain-white mizuki wood. Gold chrysanthemum motifs trail across the body and the characteristic topknot. Quiet and alive at the same time.
