Wagatsuma-san's Tsubaki No. 4 plays with weight and lightness. The cup-shaped top section carries a powerful Daruma depiction in black and red – broad lines, a decisive gesture. The round body beneath is painted with a delicate ume branch: tender, almost whispering. A piece for anyone who knows that strength and delicacy are not contradictions.

Two wood tones define the surface – light heartwood and dark natural bark. The tension between the two is the real motif.
