Wagatsuma-san's Tsubaki No. 8 needs no colour to stand out. A Kokeshi in black and white – floral motifs in white on a dark segment, light brush drawing on natural wood. The raw bark base remains untouched. The deliberate renunciation of colour makes this one of the most elegant pieces in the entire series.
